Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Darussalam Library Association (BLA) began its first few series of customised library courses, according to a press release. The four-day `Cataloguing and Indexing' course, held at the SEAMED VOCTECH Centre in Gadong, is attended by several librarians from the Ministry of Health, Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and the Kg Tanjong Maya Secondary School.

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Library Association is set to hold its second car boot sale on January 3 near Sheraton Utama Hotel. Running from 7 am to 5 pm, the event is aimed at collecting funds for the association. Some 46 people have registered to join the car boot sale, which is open to the public. |

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Library Association recently held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Laguna Dua Restaurant and Lounge in Berakas. Seventy members of the Brunei Library Association consisting of officers and staff froin the government and private sector, universities, secondary schools, special libraries as well as Information and Library Management Course students, attended the AGM. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss matters brought up during the 2008-2010 AGM and to discuss the upcoming Silver Jubilee celebration for 2011.

Bandar Seri Begawan - THE Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has donated a collection of books to the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) library, a statement from UBD announced yesterday. The books donated mostly focus on Vietnamese culture, history, economics, laws and society and will be on display at the university library as reference materials for university students, staff and other library members. "UBD appreciates these donations as it broadens the scope of reading materials available at the university," the statement read. |
