CONSAL published CONSAL Newsletter Issue No.5 today as the special issue on the occasion of the 14th CONSAL General Conference to be held in Hanoi from 21-22 April 2009. The special issue features latest library and information developments in Southeast Asian region and provides essential information about the upcoming conference, including information about CONSAL Award winners. CONSAL XIV Conference Program and Proceeding announced

The Vietnam Organizing Committee of CONSAL XIV General Conference officially announced the Conference's Program and Proceeding at a press conference held in Hanoi yesterday. According the program, this regional conference convening over 800 delegates, including 300 foreign participants, will be officially open on April 21,2009 at Melia Hotel Hanoi with the presence of Vietnamese Vice State President.

Library Association of Singapore has granted the award of Practising Professional (PP) to its first forty five members. The PP award certifies that the member has completed a minimum number of acceptable continuous professional development activities that indicate that he/she has attempted to keep up-to-date in professional practice.

Iriga City’s hip new public library

There is a new hotspot in Iriga City, the hometown of superstar Nora Aunor and the Philippines’ first bus company, Alatco. Iriguenos, and even residents from neighboring Naga, are trooping to the very modern Iriga City Public Library. The façade of the two-story building features floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a brick pathway.
