Ms. Phan Kim DungVietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on September 30 named Ms. Phan Thi Kim Dung to head the National Library of Vietnam, succeeding Mr. Pham The Khang who had retired from the position. Previously, Ms. Phan Thi Kim Dung served as Vice Director in charge of administration and collection maintenance and played an important role in the successful organization of the 14th CONSAL General Conference in Hanoi, April 2009. She is the NLV's 13th Director General since its foundation in 1917.

Penang Library to launch One Baby One Book Programme

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- A "One baby One Book" programme will be launched by the Penang Public Library Corporation and the Sekolah Convent Bukit Mertajam alumni to encourage parents to instill reading habit and love for knowledge among children.
